fun in the woods with evie and satch
WARNING: Tons of pictures here. You may want to read this in your browser.
over three weeks, satch and i created another world. at arrow park, ny. really intense preparation: satch painting the door and creating the giant stem and mushroom cap and figuring out how to light it and getting all the right pieces of the puzzle together and drilling holes in bottles again and painting bottles again and getting two deliveries of smooth-on mold making goop (ex-pen-sive) cause i fucked up the molds from the first one so badly and then casting all the molds and offering the resin gods a shiny silver pot, if i could just get the mold right on this one bigggg model that satch made, and thinking that the giant mushroom looks chintzy and then getting in the forest and it fitting perfectly and being with satch in the forest for three days and hanging with julie and her mom and the other artists and hearing david’s poetry and and and. i am SO grateful for the opportunity to create art in the woods with the third now-adult that i co-created. whew. a high point in my life.
lots of pictures follow. best viewed in a browser.
i’ll put the videos up on my site in the next couple days. i learned a lot over the past few weeks, about myself and about my kid and about my art. life can be very good.
