hallelujah, it's nap time!

waking up today, not so easy. getting out of bed, even harder. gray everywhere. finally made myself move from bed to shower and let the warm then hot then boiling water rain down and massage my brain. then automaton action: fed boba, walked boba, grocery shopping, library, home, work work work, and now it’s break time.

marxe is snowed in at bard, mo is prepping to be snowed in at warren wilson. no snow here, just rain and gray gray gray.

but thanksgiving rocked. the four of us, plus priya, plus lauryn, plus tina, plus alexis. and of course truffle bear and boba. turkey in the house, a la marxe, first time since scott died. carnivores pronounced it yummy.

then friday, four of us cheered the Caps to an overtime win, but first watched warmups from the penalty box. very fun.

so everyone returns in a couple weeks, for a longer time. this is good, cause right now i’m dragging. SAD lamp working overtime. playing hockey helps, but sometimes i drag even there.

did finish a piece last week, and currently working on some new chairs and a found-wood ceiling light for the dining room. but here’s the latest below. would have tried to sell it, but the supposedly unsmearable acrylic pen smeared some during polyurethane application. so now it hangs in our hallway. really love this piece (untitled) and pissed that it smeared. definitely see the eastern european folk art influence.

trying to cancel Sirius XM that came with the van we purchased over five years ago and that i keep paying for cause i never knew when to cancel. they’ve had me on hold for 25:36 minutes now. and no, you can’t cancel online. MUST call. wankers.

time to begin thinking about our holiday card. tried to edit some of my piece images with free photoshop-like stuff (cut out the rug background, etc) but it’s slow going. will actually work into the new GIMP software soon: probably closest to photoshop without the cost. and yes, i have been using my old old old adobe suite version on my old old laptop because i WILL NOT pay their stupid monthly subscription. but it’s getting just too unwieldy. so off to GIMP i go.

maybe a nap before practice tonight. yeah. a nap. now on hold for 37:04. fuckers.
