protectiveness

been thinking about making a tornado piece for a few years now — finally did it and just finished. yay!

this is “protectiveness,” named for aspects of the world from which i’d like to protect my kids.

couple of firsts for me: using cast poly-vitro, as taught by tim tate at the washington glass school, using lint, and sculpting with an armature. thinking, actually, about how to best describe my art. cause inevitably, people ask me to do so… i normally say i work in wood, but that’s not really correct. i work in many media. seems the best descriptor lately would be multi-media sculpture. what do you think?
